Egg Time Rewind Unblocked

Lose a ship and time loops back, bringing your old attempts along as ghost wingmen.

Egg Time Rewind is a side-scrolling space shooter squeezed onto a tiny 84 by 48 pixel screen in two shades of green, and you can play Egg Time Rewind unblocked on any laptop. You blast aliens and try to crack a giant egg that floats past, but the clever part is what dying does. The run winds back to the start, and every ship you lost comes along as a ghost that repeats its old flight, shots and all.

How to Play Egg Time Rewind

Press Space or click on the title screen. A card shows how many ships you have left, and then the loop begins. Your ship faces right and fires right, and one touch from an alien, a block or an enemy bullet destroys it.

Move with W A S D, the arrow keys, or the number pad. Fire with Space, Shift, or number pad 5 or 0, and hold it for a steady stream. With a mouse, click once and the ship follows your pointer while the left button fires. A gamepad works too. Esc pauses, and R restarts the whole game from zero. Your first press of fire readies the cannon, and bullets start flowing after that.

One Run, Three Loops

You get three ships per game. When one is destroyed, the clock rewinds. The enemy waves come in exactly the same order as before, your score carries over, and your previous attempt flies beside you as a flickering copy. By your third ship, two ghosts are shooting along with you.

A ghost only lasts as long as the life it recorded. If your first ship died forty seconds in, its ghost vanishes at the forty-second mark of later loops. The enemy layout is shuffled for each new game, but it stays the same across your three loops. After the last ship is gone, you see your score for a few seconds and return to the title. A new best score shows a “new high” label.

Enemies and the Egg

Each normal alien takes four regular hits and is worth a single point:

  • Saucers arrive stacked in threes, fly past you, then turn and race back from the left.
  • Squid-like aliens come in rows of three or four and bob up and down as they drift.
  • Ghosts float slowly toward wherever you are.
  • Gunners fire a slow bullet aimed at your ship every two seconds.
  • Blocks form columns of four or five and cannot be destroyed at all. Find the gap and slide through.

The big egg drifts in about a second after each loop starts, and a new one shows up five to eight seconds after the last one breaks or scrolls away. Breaking it earns 50 points, which is worth far more than a whole wave of aliens. Your hits also nudge it up or down. The first egg takes 30 damage, and each one you crack makes the next one 5 points tougher for the rest of that game.

How Difficulty Ramps Up

Every loop starts gentle and gets harder over its first minute. Aliens move up to twice as fast, the pauses between waves shrink to almost nothing, and after about thirty seconds a wave can include a random mix of enemy types. Because each death resets the clock, your later ships replay the easy opening before facing that rush again.

Getting More Out of Each Life

  1. Treat your first life as an investment. It replays in both later loops, so a first run that keeps shooting at the egg keeps paying off.
  2. Memorize the waves. Since the enemy order repeats, the second loop is a chance to pick safer lanes.
  3. Let the charge build. Lift off the fire button for about a second before an egg or a line of saucers arrives, then let the big piercing shot go. It deals 4 damage, enough to drop a normal alien in one hit.
  4. Dodge right after a gunner fires. Its bullets aim where you were, so a small move up or down is enough.
  5. Watch the left side for saucers. They come back the way they went, so stay out of their return path.
  6. Survive longer on later lives. A long final life adds points on top of everything your ghosts are already doing.

Mistakes New Players Make

  • Shooting at block columns. They take no damage, so every bullet spent there is wasted.
  • Holding fire nonstop. A constant stream never charges the big shot, which is the fastest way to crack eggs.
  • Dying early on purpose. A short first life makes a short ghost, so your later loops get less help.
  • Hugging one spot. Ghost aliens home in on you, so sitting still lets them catch up.

Devices, Sound and Session Length

It needs a computer, so it suits a Chromebook or laptop better than a phone. The keyboard gives the tightest control, while mouse mode is easier for some players because the ship glides toward the pointer. Sound effects are made in code and play by default, so use headphones in class. A full game of three loops usually takes a few minutes, which makes it a good short break.

Egg Time Rewind questions

Where do the ghost ships come from?

Each one is a recording of a life you already lost. When the loop restarts, every past attempt flies its exact old route and fires its old shots, and those shots still damage enemies.

How many points is the egg worth?

Cracking an egg pays 50 points, while a regular alien pays 1. The first egg takes 30 damage to break, and each egg after that needs 5 more.

What is the big glowing shot?

After you have fired once, let go of the trigger and a charge builds in front of the ship. Once it is full, the next bullet is huge, deals four times the damage and passes through enemies.

Does Egg Time Rewind save my high score?

Yes. Your best score is stored in the browser and shown at the top of the title screen. A run in progress is not saved, so closing the tab ends it.

Can I play Egg Time Rewind on a Chromebook or phone?

A Chromebook works well, using the keyboard, the trackpad or a gamepad. Phones are not supported because the game has no touch controls.
