Andromeda Invaders is a small retro shooter by Susam Pal where a fleet of orange ships hangs over the ground and rains boulders on your laser cannon. You can play Andromeda Invaders unblocked right in your browser, and there is no fire button, because the cannon shoots on its own. You only decide where to stand, which turns every round into a quick puzzle of positioning and timing.
How to Play Andromeda Invaders
Break every ship in the fleet before it can sink low enough to reach you. Each ship needs three hits. Its color shifts from bright orange to dark orange to deep red as it weakens, so you can always see which one is close to breaking.
Your only job is to slide the green cannon left and right. It sends up one laser pulse at a time, and a new pulse launches the moment the old one hits a ship, hits a boulder or leaves the top of the screen. That one rule shapes everything: a wasted shot leaves you unarmed for a moment.
Your First Minute
Level 1 gives you just three ships, which makes it a gentle warm-up. Start moving within a few seconds, or the built-in demo takes over and plays for you. Line up under the slowest-looking ship and let the pulses climb. Ships drift sideways, bounce off the walls and sometimes flip direction at random, so you will need to follow your target instead of parking in one spot.
Boulders hang under each ship until they drop clear of it, then fall straight down. Slide a step aside, or sit under one on purpose so your pulse breaks it.
How Points Add Up
Scoring rewards you for finishing what you start:
- The first hit on a ship pays 10 points.
- The second hit on the same ship pays 20.
- The final hit that destroys it pays 30.
- Every boulder you shoot out of the sky pays 1.
A wounded ship does not stay wounded forever. After it drops ten more boulders, it heals one step, and you lose the chance at that easy 30. The top left corner shows your score with the level in brackets, such as “250 (L3)”.
How the Levels Get Harder
Clear the fleet and the next level starts at once. Level 2 has six ships, and every level after that has ten. The code also raises the speed each time:
- Ship speed grows every few levels until it reaches its cap around level 10.
- Boulders fall at a random speed inside a range, and both ends of that range creep up with the level.
- The whole fleet slowly sinks toward the ground, and it sinks faster as ships are destroyed. The last two or three ships of a wave come down noticeably quicker than a full fleet.
When a ship reaches the ground, it turns and drives straight at your cannon. If it touches you, the run is over, no matter how healthy you are.
Staying Alive
Your cannon can survive two boulders. The third one ends the run. Play carefully after a hit, since 100 points scored without being hit repairs one step and turns the cannon greener again.
The run timer in the top right corner counts up while you play and stops while paused. It is a handy second goal if you want to last longer rather than score higher.
Andromeda Invaders Tips and Strategy
- Target the lowest ship before the rest. It is the one that can end your game instantly.
- Stay under a boulder only if you plan to shoot it. A blasted boulder earns a point and frees your next pulse.
- Avoid drifting under open sky. A pulse that misses everything keeps flying, and you are defenseless until it leaves the screen.
- Pick one ship and finish it. Spreading hits around gives every ship time to heal.
- Lead moving ships slightly. Your pulse takes time to climb, and a fast ship can slide out of its path.
- Slow down on the last ships of a wave. They fall faster, so take them out quickly but without taking needless hits.
Mistakes New Players Make
The most common one is chasing points across the whole screen and losing track of the boulders above. Another is ignoring a ship that has slipped low because a different one is almost broken. Finally, many players forget the demo: if the cannon starts moving on its own after a restart, the game is not broken, you just need to take control.
On a Chromebook or Phone
The game runs in a 4:3 frame and works well with a keyboard: arrow keys or A and D to move, Space or P to pause, and M to mute the music. F switches to full screen, and Enter opens the info screen and then starts a fresh run. The chord music speeds up as the levels climb, so muting is worth it in a quiet room.
On a touch screen, a row of large buttons sits under the board. In landscape they fit on one line; in portrait they stack into two rows so each one is easier to hit. Holding an arrow button keeps the cannon rolling, though quick dodges are easier with real keys.
Similar Games to Try
Rounds are short, so it fits a five-minute break, but a good run can stretch much longer. For more arcade games, try Missile Defense, where you protect cities by aiming shots yourself, or Astroblast, which lets you fly around the screen instead of staying on the ground.
