Mini Golf is a top-down putting game with nine hand-made holes, each built around its own idea. You can play Mini Golf unblocked in your browser, from a gentle opening green to a final hole where you time a shot past a sliding gate. The ball rolls with real physics, so bank shots and soft touches matter. Frank Force built it with his LittleJS engine, using Box2D for the physics.
Choosing a Hole
The game starts on a course map where all nine holes appear as small live previews. Click any one, or press a number key from 1 to 9, to start there. You do not have to play them in order, which makes it easy to practice a hole that keeps beating you.
A bar above the green tracks which hole you are on, your strokes so far there, and your total for the round. There is no par, so your total is the score that matters.
How to Play Mini Golf
Press on the ball and pull toward your target. The longer you pull, the bigger the arrow, and a power percentage below the green shows the strength of the hit. Full power comes from a long pull, about a third of the course’s width. Release to putt. You can only aim once the ball has stopped rolling.
When the ball sits still, a light guide line points straight at the hole. That line ignores walls, so treat it as a hint about direction rather than a full plan.
Wooden planks, stones and the outer frame all bounce the ball. Sink it and the word SUNK appears, then the next hole loads. After hole 9, the course loops back to hole 1.
Handy Shortcuts
- R replays the current hole.
- N skips to the next hole.
- Esc, or the menu icon at the top right, takes you back to the course map.
The Nine Holes
Each green has its own layout, and knowing them helps you plan:
- Hole 1 is an S-curve with two planks and a single stone in the middle.
- Hole 2 is a field of eight round stones between you and the cup, like a pinball table.
- Hole 3 is a long corridor with three pillars down the center.
- Hole 4 is a dogleg. The cup hides behind a wall, so you need a bank shot around the corner.
- Hole 5 is a narrow corridor with four staggered bumpers.
- Hole 6 is an L-shaped course with walls and two big boulders in the way.
- Hole 7 is a U-shape. The cup sits right below the tee, but a long divider forces you around the far side.
- Hole 8 is a snake path where two walls make you zigzag.
- Hole 9 has a red striped blocker sliding up and down between two stones.
Mini Golf Tips by Hole Type
- Use the rails. The border walls are springy, so a shot into the edge can curve around a plank sitting in the straight path.
- Go medium in the bumper field. A steady shot that threads two stones stays more predictable than a blast that rattles off everything.
- Lay up on long holes. Try to stop near the cup first instead of slamming the ball at it from far away.
- Use angled boards. On the U-shaped green, the tilted walls along the right side guide your ball around to the cup beyond the long divider.
- Watch the gate before you swing. On hole 9, let the blocker move up and down once or twice, then time your putt for the open gap.
- Keep the last putt soft. The cup only catches a ball that is not moving too fast, so a gentle tap beats a hard shot from close range.
Mistakes New Players Make
The most common one is pulling back like a slingshot. The ball travels toward your drag, not away from it. Another is using full power everywhere. The ball keeps rolling for a long time, so big hits often bounce off several walls and end up farther away. Finally, many players follow the guide line straight into a wall on the dogleg and U-shaped holes.
Playing on a Chromebook or Phone
On a Chromebook, press the touchpad on the ball and drag. A mouse gives finer control over power, but the touchpad works. On a phone, turn it sideways, put a finger on the ball, slide toward the target and lift. The game plays soft sounds for putts, bounces and sinking the ball, so lower the volume in class.
There is no timer, so you can take each shot at your own pace. A full course is short enough for a lunch break, and replaying one hole takes seconds.
