Epoch Clicker Unblocked

Click to gather, hire workers, and push a tiny realm forward one age at a time.

Epoch Clicker is an idle game told mostly in text and numbers, where one humble bucket of water grows into a whole realm. You start by clicking to gather, then hire workers so the numbers rise on their own. Playing Epoch Clicker unblocked in a browser tab works well because it keeps running while you read, and before long you are saving for a new age and watching your little nation move through history.

The First Few Minutes

Buy the free Water upgrade first, then start pressing Gather. Each press pushes a red progress bar along, and when it fills you earn one unit. Water is quick at 10 clicks, while wood takes 25 and stone 50.

Your first purchases are tiny. Water Fetching costs a single water and unlocks the Water Fetcher, and Woodcutting costs two water and opens wood plus the Lumberjack. A Water Fetcher adds a tenth of a click to the water bar every second, so one worker is slow, but a row of them adds up.

Each resource can only be stored up to a limit, shown by the colored bar above it. When you hit the cap, extra gathering is wasted. Storage upgrades such as Barrels raise that cap, ten water per level, so your stockpile can keep climbing.

How to Play Epoch Clicker Well: Workers and Buildings

Workers and buildings keep producing every second, even when you stop clicking. Workers push the progress bars along on your behalf, from the early Water Fetcher, Lumberjack and Miner to the Ironsmith, Farmer, Silversmith and Jeweler later on. Buildings such as the Water Mill, Sawmill, Stone Quarry and Foundry usually drop finished goods straight into your stockpile.

Each purchase raises the price of the next one. A Water Fetcher, for example, gets 25 percent more expensive every time you hire one. That means you will often be choosing between one more worker and an upgrade that boosts all of them.

Hover over a tile to see its cost and effect before you commit. Need to get rid of one? A Ctrl + click on a worker or building tile sells it, which helps when upkeep costs get too high. Trades such as Wood to Water or Iron to Silver let you turn a surplus into whatever you are short on.

Moving Through the Ages

The game names your realm at random, and the first age upgrade takes you into the Stone Age. After that come the Feudal Age, the Dark Age, the Renaissance and the Age of Revolution. Each step unlocks something new:

  • Stone Age: one Advancement Point, the Mining research and faster Lumberjacks.
  • Feudal Age: iron, three more buildings, and a boost to water, wood and stone workers and storage.
  • Dark Age: a disease outbreak and an economic crisis, no Advancement Point, but the Grain Mill and the Commerce research.
  • Renaissance: two Advancement Points, diamonds, the Jewelry building and colonies.
  • Age of Revolution: a pumping system worth 10 water per second, but workers cost 10 percent more, buildings 15 percent more, and taxes cost more silver. Its price is huge, including 250,000 water.

Colonies, Leaders and Prestige

A colony is the big reset. You lose your buildings and stock, but your Prestige Points carry over and buy permanent skills. The game has 36 of these Prestige skills, with names like Head Start, Hoarding and Haggler, so each new colony starts stronger than the last.

Colonies also unlock leaders. Once you have founded two colonies, you can recruit one leader per colony from a list of 15 historical figures, including Gilgamesh, Pythagoras, Socrates, Plato, Gutenberg, Magellan and Galileo. More of them become available as your colony count grows, and each one gives a different bonus.

Epoch Clicker Strategy Tips

  • Stop hand-gathering early. Click water only until Water Fetchers are affordable, then hand the job over to them.
  • Keep an eye on storage. A full bar means your clicks and workers are doing nothing for that resource.
  • Read the tier number. Some upgrades come in several levels, such as Water Tap I to III, and the tooltip shows which tier is next.
  • Stock up before the Dark Age. The crisis knocks you back, and a healthy pile of goods makes the recovery quicker.
  • Think before hiring a leader. You only get one per colony, and more choices appear later.
  • Plan your colony. A reset feels like a loss, but the permanent skills make every later run faster.

Mistakes New Players Make

The biggest one is clicking forever instead of hiring. Clicks matter for the first minute, and after that workers do far more. Another is ignoring the storage cap and wondering why a number stopped moving. A third is racing to the next age with an empty stockpile, which hurts most when that age is the Dark Age.

Long-Term Goals and Saving

There is plenty to work toward once the basics are running. The Achievements panel tracks 36 goals, and Statistics shows how many clicks and purchases you have made. The Settings panel has several color themes plus save export and import, and the game autosaves in your browser every minute.

That makes it a good fit for short breaks spread over many days. For more slow-building games, browse the casual games. Prestige Tree Rewritten is built around resets that unlock new layers, while A Dark Room mixes a village builder with exploration and a story.

Epoch Clicker questions

Why does one click not give me a full unit of water?

Each click only fills part of the red bar under a resource, and a full bar becomes one unit. Water takes 10 clicks, wood 25 and stone 50, which is why workers matter so much.

What does a new age give me in Epoch Clicker?

Most ages hand you Advancement Points for special research and open new resources, buildings or features. The Dark Age is the exception: it gives no point and brings a disease crisis first.

What is a colony?

Starting a colony is the reset option in the Prestige menu, unlocked in the Renaissance. Your realm restarts, but Prestige and Advancement Points stay, and Prestige Points buy skills that last from one colony to the next.

Does Epoch Clicker save my progress?

Yes. It autosaves to your browser about once a minute, and the Settings panel lets you export your save as text and import it later, which is handy if you switch devices.

Can I play Epoch Clicker on a Chromebook or tablet?

A Chromebook is ideal, since selling uses Ctrl + click and the crowded layout needs room. On a tablet you can gather and buy with taps, but you can't sell anything.
